Supporting IFAM
All proceeds from the IFAM Virtual One World Gala & Auction support the International Folk Art Market, its signature program the International Folk Art Market, Santa Fe, Artist Education Programs, and year-round public programming.
The Importance of IFAM
What was born out of Santa Fe as a small grassroots organization focused on one event a year has grown into a nonprofit empowering international folk artist year-round. IFAM continually improves and expands its programs to meet the challenges that folk artists are facing in the global marketplace. Since 2004, the International Folk Art Market, Santa Fe, has hosted more than 1000 master folk artists from 100 countries in the world’s largest exhibition and sale of works by master folk artists. Artist earnings have exceeded $34 million and impacted more than one million lives in the communities they represent. Our Mentor to Market Education Programs (M2M) provides important business and marketing skill-building workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and long-term support for folk artists.
Where IFAM Santa Fe provides a place for all of us to gather, learn, celebrate our shared humanity, and appreciate what brings us together once a year, Folk Art Matters, a series of lectures, films, artist workshops, and special sales events, is a way to invite audiences year-round to experience the deep cultural impulses that shape IFAM and inform the creation of folk art from around the world.
Ultimately, IFAM offers folk artists a respected place in the global marketplace to gather and share their handmade traditions and to create economic, social, and individual empowerment.
Allied with the world’s master folk artists, your support of IFAM results in communities around the world having clean drinking water, education for girls, improved health care, and thriving folk art traditions.
